Rincon de la Vieja National Park

Las Pailas trail is well known because of its emanations of boiling mud, boiling water and steams that resonate in the environment. You can witness all this volcanic activity and you can also visit from a dry forest to transitional forest, and slightly of a rain forest in just two hours.

“There are unique experiences that can only be experienced in this park, such as a visit to La Cangreja waterfall (known as the 'blue lagoon' due to the characteristic color of the water).

Site where the volcanic component is combined with its fumaroles, hornillas, and Mud Baths, with a great variety of ecosystems and impressive landscapes, waterfalls, areas of regenerating grasslands, and primary forests.

The park has a network of trails that range from those that are 100% natural, to others that are slightly modified and sections that are adapted to allow accessibility for people with special mobility needs. All trails offer a good chance of spotting birds, mammals, and reptiles.
